The Brow Nod...

...is Ki's signature move. It's a common gesture to raise your eyebrows up and down instead of nodding your head when you agree with something. I've noticed that Polynesians are especially fond of using this eyebrow gesture. After all, it is extremely convenient. You don't even have to say a word or hardly move a muscle to express yourself. Most people who use this way of communication at least get both eyebrows in the action as well as a little forehead furrowing. -- Not Ki. He can express himself with the rise and fall of one eyebrow. He doesn't even get a furrow on his forehead. (The crease on his forehead below is not a furrow, it is a wrinkle. The Man is starting to get OLD. Look at his distinguished grey hair.) It is quite amazing that he can use so little movement to get his point across. I love his eyebrow communication.

The past couple of weeks I have noticed that Keenan has been using the eyebrow shrug as a way of saying yes instead of using his words. (I tried to get a photo of his new skill but he says, 'it doesn't work for cameras'.) Keenie does not have the finesse that his father has. He widens his eyes to almost bulging and furrows his brow in the most demanding demeanor. I am not a huge fan of his new way of communicating. It seems a bit rude. Hopefully his Dad will be able to teach him his polite nuances - or I just might have to yank a hair or two from those sassy brows of his.

Babe, for the record--I think you are a hottie with all your grey hair and wrinkles.
